GREAT potential for Statesboro Partnership with Business Innovation Group at GSU
During his Official Club Visit to Statesboro - DG Hamsa was able to visit the Business Innovation Group (BIG). Downtown Statesboro President Allen and PE Jack joined DG Hamsa on short notice for
the visit. They toured BIG Maker Space & talked with Two budding entrepreneurs before sitting down to discuss partnership opportunities with BIG director Dominique Halaby and senior advisor Suzanne Hallman. They discussed opportunities to engage Statesboro
Rotarians as mentors with BIG. The Shared Goal is to nurture new generations of entrepreneurs in Statesboro.
The future is bright with Statesboro’s own Rotarians, GSU expert faculty & the BIG engaged with a common goal to cultivate problem solving skills of new generations of entrepreneurs
in Statesboro. DG Hamsa is excited and looking forward to seeing this awesome team come together to make a difference during the 2017-18 Rotary Year. “We are blessed to have this much talent coming together to create a better future!”

Representatives of MAP International, Rotary Club District 6920 and two community clinics
— Brunswick-based Coastal Medical Access Project and Valdosta-based South Georgia Partnership for Health — pose for a photo Tuesday at MAP International's headquarters in Brunswick. The agencies are partnering to bring life-saving medications to low-income
patients in Valdosta and Brunswick.

Tyler H. Jones/The Brunswick News
A tower of blue shrink-wrapped pallets sat in MAP International’s Brunswick warehouse Tuesday,
ready for shipment to Syrian refugees in Lebanon and clinics in Haiti, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The supplies are part of the worldwide charity’s decades-long efforts to put valuable prescriptions and medical supplies in the hands of the planet’s
most vulnerable populations. Soon, though, some of those life-saving medications will be headed to patients who are much, much closer.Read

Club Macon North Serves from the Heart with
Rooms from the Heart !
"Making a Difference in the life of a child” is the slogan of Rooms from the Heart - and one that members of the Club Macon North were glad to share on September 30th from early morning
to late evening. Rooms from the Heart is a non-profit organization that invests two to three thousand dollars per project to redecorate the bedrooms of critically ill children between the ages of 3-19 without regard to their gender, race, religious affilitation
or financial circumstances. Andy Greenway, Club Macon North Service Chair, is a member of the Rooms from the Heart Executive Board. Thanks to Andy’s service, Club Macon North has facilitated the completion of three rooms to date. The latest project was completed
with the assistance of Macon North Club President Dr. Kendra Russell, eleven fellow Macon North club members, seven Ascend Scholars, and volunteers from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
While the family was away, the volunteers executed a room makeover to include a customized bed with space for a dog’s kennel for a fragile diabetic who requires a service
dog to alert her when she needs to check her blood sugar. Upon the family’s return at the end of the day, the Big Reveal and the hearty meal provided by Rooms for the Heart, certainly brought a smile to the faces of all involved!.

Rotarian Fielding Whipple sits outside his downtown Milledgeville business on the bench the local Rotary Club recently unveiled honoring his more than 50 years
perfect attendance to Rotary meetings, in the hope that future generations may be aware of his impressive feat.
From “ The Union Recorder”:
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Every time Fielding Whipple visits the business he has owned for more than 50 years, he passes just a few yards away from a plaque that
bears his name.
After half a century of servicing typewriters, copiers and other machines at Milledgeville’s Whipple Office Equipment Company while serving his community as a member of the Milledgeville Rotary Club,
the 95-year-old Whipple has gained a well-earned reputation as one of the city’s most respected figures. READ
