  April 2023 - Buddy Carter Visit

            install deadbolt locks on the doors of tiny houses in the Veterans Village.

My staff and I volunteered at the Golden Isles Veterans Village that is being spearheaded by Lorene Reid and a great group of volunteers. Among the jobs my staff and I are involved in are general cleanup, doorknob and deadbolt installation, and wall demolishing. This is a great project that will help ensure that our veterans, who are our heroes, don’t go homeless

Veteran Village is a transitional community to help homeless veterans "get back on their feet" again! The village consists of thirty (30) tiny-homes and a community center. It is designed to create a community environment where homeless veterans can reside, gather, and receive physical and mental health services, education and job training.
